PossAbilities, Adult Day Activities, embodies the mission of Avenues by providing year round day support designed specifically for adults with moderate to profound developmental and/or physical disabilities.  PossAbilities provides a variety of services based on an individual's specific needs and abilities.

Functional Skills Training

Each program participant who attends the  adult training facility (ATF) has goals to target specific areas of training, which are developed by the interdisciplinary team.  These goals aid individuals in achieving their highest level of independence and environmental control. 

 

Training focuses on the following areas, based on an individual's needs and preferences.  Some areas of training may overlap to increase independence in all aspects of their lives.

Community Integration

 

Community integration is accomplished in conjunction with functional skills training.  Program participants may learn shopping skills or daily living skills in a practical setting through weekly trips to local stores within the immediate community.  Inclusion is promoted through volunteer efforts, including delivering Meals-on-Wheels, volunteering at local animal shelters, or cleaning up local parks and playgrounds.  These activities are designed to give the community a chance to meet and interact with the ATF program participants.

 

Community Supports Option

 

PossAbilities Central also provides entirely community based programing to those seeing a non-traditional setting. The CSO staff to consumer ratio is 1:3. The individuals participating in this program do not attend a facility based program. Their activities are carried out in the community 5 days a week. This program focuses on volunteering and practicing community related skills.

7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.,
Monday through Friday.
