First Friends Day Care

What is the First Friends

Day Care Center?

Avenues' Day Care is a state-licensed facility serving all children from six weeks through twelve years of age. We provide a safe, caring, and structured learning environment. Our staff consists of qualified and caring individuals who are put through state regulated training each year. This caring staff incorporates developmentally appropriate activities at every level.

How many programs are offered?

There are three different programs offered at the "First Friends" Day Care child care program:

  1. Infant/Toddler Day Care
  2. Preschool Day Care
  3. School Age/ Summer Program
Infant/Toddler Day Care

Our caring and qualified staff provide excellent care for children six weeks through thirty-six months of age. The children are involved in a day filled with stimulating activities. Activities include finger plays, songs, art projects, learning times, and much more. We not only help your children grow socially through such activities, but we also help them grow cognitively.

Preschool Day Care

Children three through five years of age are provided with a fun-filled and educational day. Children who are preparing for kindergarten are taught their colors, letter and number identification, pre-writing skills, as well as their address and phone number. The preschool children not only learn academically, but they also become self-sufficient and learn to get along with their peers.

School Age/ Summer Program

Children five through twelve years of age are eligible for before and after school care. Full day Care services are also available during summer vacation and school closings. These children are encouraged to complete their school work and to interact socially with children of all ages.

Just a little more information..........

All of our programs provide a morning and an afternoon snack for each child.

Each of our classrooms involve the
children in large and small group
activities as well as some independent projects.

Weather permitting, all groups are given the opportunity to enjoy our spacious grounds, which include a nature trail and a playground. The children take walks and go on community based field trips such as to local nursing homes, pumpkin patches, and other various places, depending on their age. The children also enjoy guest speakers throughout the year, whether it be a fireman, musician, or a guest reader.

All children are continually challenged and encouraged to explore their world under our expert care. We believe that the strong foundation we provide for the children in our care ensures them success in their school careers. Our day care provides quality services at a reasonable cost. Parents are encouraged to play an active role in their child's care. Daily reports and vital information concerning each child is sent home and community on a daily basis. The amount of interest you take in your child's care in these early years will help form their self-concept and attitude towards themselves and their schooling in the future.
